Last weekend, over 200 pharmacists from the Mekong Delta region and Can Tho city participated in a continuing medical education program to obtain CPE certification. By equipping participants with additional professional knowledge and assessing their competency through a final examination, the program aims to enhance pharmacists’ consulting capabilities for patients, improve treatment effectiveness, and ultimately ensure the quality of public health.

During the training session, DSCK2 Phan Khac Hoang, Chief Inspector of the Department of Health in Can Tho City, emphasized, “Pharmaceutical practitioners who do not possess a certificate of completion for a continuous professional education (CPE) program within three years from the date of receiving their pharmaceutical practice license or from the most recent certification will have their practice license revoked.”

The training session attracted over 200 registered pharmacists from the region.

Over the course of the six-hour program, two speakers, Dr. Nguyen Trieu Viet, Head of the Otolaryngology Department at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, and Dr. Do Lenh Hung, Deputy Head of the Urology Department and Head of the Urethra Unit at Binh Dan Hospital, as well as a lecturer in Urology at Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, delivered in-depth discussions on two topics: the anti-edema role of anti-inflammatory enzymes affecting otolaryngological conditions, and alpha-blockers in treating lower urinary tract symptoms in men due to benign prostatic hyperplasia.

The practical knowledge shared by the speakers, along with a Q&A session addressing real-life scenarios, was met with enthusiastic participation from the pharmacists during the “Q&A Forum” segment. This engagement preceded the most critical part of the training—the Continuous Professional Education (CPE) assessment.

Mr. Vu Vuong, CCO and Co-founder of BuyMed Co., Ltd., stated that BuyMed will continue to collaborate with the Pharmaceutical Association and local Medical Universities to organize additional training sessions and provide CPE certificates for pharmacists across various provinces nationwide. This initiative aims to enhance the skills of traditional pharmacists and build customer trust, especially as traditional pharmacies are gradually losing market share to large pharmacy chains.

Not only has thuocsi.vn made a name for itself as one of the largest e-commerce platforms in the pharmaceutical industry in Vietnam, but it also actively engages in community projects through various free training programs. In addition to offline training courses, pharmacists can still update their knowledge and obtain certifications through online courses integrated into their thuocsi.vn shopping accounts.
